Job summary

Bright Beginnings Montessori Preschool in Rolleston, Canterbury is seeking a warm, caring nursery teacher to join our Pukeko community. This permanent full-time role covers 32 to 40 hours weekly and supports children aged from infants to 2.5 years in a calm Montessori environment.

The ideal candidate has a passion for early childhood education, is provisional or fully certificated in ECE, and brings strong communication, reliability, and a nurturing, team-minded approach to care and

Responsibilities

Bright Beginnings Montessori Preschool in Rolleston, Canterbury is seeking a warm, caring, and dedicated nursery teacherto join our Pukeko community. This position is a permanent full-time rolefor the right candidate (32 to 40 hours).

About the role:

• Care for and support children agedinfants to 2.5 yearsin a calm, enriching Montessori environment.
• Foster independence, curiosity, and developmental growth through age-appropriate learning experiences.
• Maintain strong, respectful relationships with children, families, and fellow educators.
• Uphold daily routines, primary care giving and documentation in line with our Montessori principles and licensing standards.

Ideal candidate will have:

• a passion for early childhood education and the Montessori philosophy.
• provisional or fully certificated in ECE (new graduates can apply)
• experience working with infants and toddlers in a licensed childcare setting
• strong communication skills and a team-oriented mind-set
• reliability, flexibility, and a nurturing, gentle approach to care
• flexibility to work within the hours of 7am to 5.30pm
• first aid certified if possible.
