Metlifecare Limited in Auckland is seeking a highly experienced Nurse Manager to lead our Highlands care facility’s caring team. In this full‑time role, you will partner with the Village Manager to maximise occupancy, manage the care P&L, and deliver budgets while maintaining clinical excellence.

You will mentor staff, implement best practice in gerontology, schedule flexibly, and build strong community connections to support residents and families.

Qualifications

• NZ Registered Nurse with current practising certificate.
• Proven leadership experience in a care setting.
• Strong understanding of gerontological and clinical best practice.
• Business acumen with experience managing budgets and financial accountability.
• Ability to motivate and lead a high-performing care team.

Responsabilités

• Lead the care team and collaborate with the Village Manager to support sales and maximise occupancy.
• Oversee Care P&L and ensure delivery of the budgeted performance across all aspects of the facility.
• Provide leadership and development opportunities to the care team.
• Implement flexible rostering and adapt to changing needs while maintaining high standards.
• Deliver premium care experiences for residents and families through best-in-class service.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and clinical practice.
• Establish and maintain strong local community relationships.

About the role

We are seeking a highly experienced and passionate Nurse Manager to lead our fabulous team at our 41-bed care facility at Highlands, in East Auckland.

This is a full-time position working Monday to Friday – 40 hrs. week.

Some of the great things you will be doing:

• Working closely with the Village Manager as part of the leadership team to support sales and ensure occupancy are maximised
• Ownership of achievement of the Care P&L ensuring astute financial management and delivery of the budgeted performance across all aspects of the care facility
• Providing leadership and development opportunities to our high performing care team
• Embracing change and work with flexible, smart rostering skills
• Ensure premium care experience for our residents through best-in-class service delivery to our residents and their families
• Maintaining industry compliance and high standards of clinical practice
• Establish and maintain a high profile within the local community

About you

• You will be a NZ Registered Nurse with a current practicing certificate
• Solid and proven leadership experience and skills
• Strong understanding of gerontological and clinical best practice preferable
• Strong business acumen and experience managing budgets and financial accountabilities
• Leadership and training capability which will assist you to motivate, support and lead our dedicated team of staff
• Strong team management experience with leading a high performing team
• Excellent communication skills to help residents and families navigate the continuum of care journey
