Job summary

Southern Institute of Technology (SIT) Invercargill invites applications for an academic staff role in the School of Nursing. The position focuses on developing, delivering, and reviewing curricula across undergraduate and postgraduate nursing programmes with a strong emphasis on culturally responsive practice.

You will support student learning through teaching and facilitation that promotes clinical reasoning, reflective practice, and hands-on skill development in diverse clinical settings.

Qualifications

• Registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand and hold a current Annual Practising Certificate.
• Minimum post-graduate qualification in a health-related subject area.
• Relevant teaching qualification or be committed to completing a tertiary teaching qualification within two years of employment.

Responsibilities

• Develop, deliver, and review innovative curricula across undergraduate and postgraduate nursing programmes.
• Support student learning through teaching and facilitation that promotes clinical reasoning and reflective practice.
• Contribute to teaching, research, scholarship, and the academic life of the School of Nursing.
• Provide clinical teaching across settings such as acute care, mental health, aged care, primary care, and community nursing.
