Bidvest New Zealand Limited is seeking a Night Shift Warehouse Manager to lead our night operation and own performance across the warehouse and night despatch functions. This full-time leadership role emphasizes people management, resource planning, compliance, and continuous improvement, with a 45-hour week.

You will lead a nightshift team of 20+ and focus on driving KPIs, safety, and efficiency, while the day-to-day picking/loading is supported by the team.

Qualifications

• Significant warehouse, distribution, logistics, or FMCG leadership experience.
• Experience leading large teams through Supervisors or Team Leaders.
• Strong performance management and people leadership skills.
• Proven ability to achieve operational KPIs and service targets.
• Experience managing labour, productivity, and operational costs.
• Strong understanding of Health & Safety and Food Safety compliance.
• Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory management.
• Ability to make decisions, solve problems, and hold people accountable.

Responsibilities

Job description

We're looking for a Night Shift Warehouse Manager to lead our night operation and take ownership of performance across our warehouse and night despatch functions. This is a key leadership position responsible for delivering operational excellence through effective people management, resource planning, compliance, and continuous improvement.

This is a full-time leadership role, working 45 hours per week, with flexibility required to meet operational requirements and support the successful delivery of the nightshift operation.

This role is about leading teams, managing KPIs, monitoring performance, and ensuring the shift delivers results. While you'll maintain a strong presence within the operation, your focus will be on managing the business, not regularly undertaking picking, packing or loading activities yourself.

What You'll Be Responsible For

Leading People

• Building and developing a high-performing nightshift team of 20+ people.
• Coaching people to achieve operational goals.
• Driving accountability, engagement, attendance, and performance.
• Managing recruitment, onboarding, training, and succession planning.
• Creating a positive culture focused on teamwork, safety, quality, and customer service.

Managing Operational Performance

• Ensuring customer orders are picked and loaded accurately and on time.
• Driving productivity, service, and quality outcomes across the shift.
• Monitoring and achieving key operational KPIs.
• Managing labour resources and rostering effectively.
• Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Leading investigations into operational issues and implementing corrective actions.

Managing Systems, Inventory & Compliance

• Ensuring Warehouse Management System (WMS) processes are followed.
• Maintaining inventory integrity and operational discipline.
• Leading Health & Safety and Food Safety compliance across the nightshift operation.
• Ensuring incidents, risks, and compliance issues are addressed promptly.
• Driving a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
