Job summary

Fisher & Paykel Healthcare in New Zealand is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join the Equipment Reliability Maintenance Team on a permanent basis. You will perform planned maintenance, troubleshoot faults, and support continuous improvement in a highly automated production environment.

The role starts with 6–9 months of training on Day Shift (7:30am to 4:00pm, Monday to Friday) before transitioning to nights (11:40pm–7:40am, Thursday to Monday).

Qualifications

• NZ trade qualification or NZQA equivalent (e.g., Fitter & Turner, Electrical Trade Certification, or related Engineering).
• Experience maintaining manufacturing, industrial, processing, or automated equipment.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently while managing competing priorities.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Strong customer focus and commitment to safety.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventative and compliance maintenance activities.
• Diagnose and repair equipment faults and unplanned stoppages.
• Support equipment reliability and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Troubleshoot automated manufacturing equipment and control systems.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and support teams.
• Maintain accurate maintenance documentation and records.
• Contribute ideas to improve equipment performance, safety, and efficiency.
