Job summary

ibis Wellington, Accor Hotels, is seeking a Night Auditor to join the Front Office team in a full-time permanent role. You will greet guests at night, handle late check-ins, perform night audit procedures, and balance daily transactions to ensure smooth daily operations.

The role requires a calm, detail-oriented professional with strong customer service, who can work 11.00pm shifts on a rotating roster and support overnight operations across weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Overnight front desk experience and calm under pressure.
• Ability to work overnight shifts 11.00pm with rotating rosters.
• Hold an LCQ qualification and a DM Certificate or ability to obtain one (with 3 months supervisory NZ experience).
• Experience with Opera Cloud PMS and Excel is beneficial.
• NZ citizen, permanent resident, or valid work visa/permit required.

Responsibilities

• Greet late arrivals and assist guests during the night.
• Manage check-ins and check-outs with professionalism.
• Complete night audit procedures and balance daily transactions.
• Prepare reports and ensure financial accuracy.
• Respond to guest requests promptly and resolve issues.
• Maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming environment overnight.

At ibis Wellington, we're looking for a passionate and motivated Night Auditor to join our Front Office team in a full-time permanent role. Located in the heart of Wellington, our hotel welcomes guests from around New Zealand and the world, creating a fast-paced and rewarding environment where no two shifts are ever the same.

As the face of the hotel overnight, you'll play a vital role in delivering exceptional guest experiences while helping ensure our daily operations run smoothly behind the scenes.

Job Description

You'll be the friendly face greeting late arrivals, assisting guests throughout the night, and ensuring everything is set up for success the following day. Your responsibilities will include:

• Welcoming guests and delivering outstanding customer service.
• Managing check-ins and check-outs with confidence and professionalism.
• Completing night audit procedures and balancing daily transactions.
• Preparing reports and ensuring financial accuracy.
• Responding to guest requests and resolving issues with care and efficiency.
• Maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment throughout the night.
• Supporting the wider Front Office team and hotel operations.

We're looking for someone who's organised, dependable, and genuinely enjoys looking after people.

You'll ideally bring:

• Exceptional communication and customer service skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• The ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
• A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to learn.
• Previous experience in hospitality, reception, reservations, or customer-facing roles is advantageous.
• Experience with hotel systems such as Opera Cloud is beneficial but not essential.
• The legal right to work in New Zealand.

Hospitality Runs 24/7

This role is part of a 7-day-a-week operation, so flexibility is essential.

You'll be rostered across nights, weekends and public holidays as required, making this a great opportunity for someone who enjoys variety and thrives outside of traditional business hours.

Qualifications

• Take initiative and remain calm under pressure.
• Available to work overnight shifts from 11.00pm and on a rotating roster.
• Hold an LCQ qualification.
• A current DM Certificate is essential, or the ability to obtain one (requires LCQ plus 3 months’ supervisory experience in a licensed premises in NZ).
• Previous experience in Front Office operations at a supervisory level.
• Proficiency in Excel and Opera Cloud PMS (experience preferred).
• A current First Aid Certificate is an advantage.
• A full, clean New Zealand driver licence
• Must be a New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or hold a current valid work visa/permit. (Please note: visa support or sponsorship is not available for this role.)
