Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is seeking a proactive leader to oversee the day-to-day operations of a fast-paced Neurosurgical service at Auckland City Hospital. You will partner with the Service Leadership Team to drive continuous improvement, ensure patient-centred care, and deliver on clinical and operational targets.

The role focuses on leading administrative services, coordinating across multidisciplinary teams, and supporting timetables, leave coverage, and data-driven decision making

Qualifications

• A tertiary qualification in health sciences, business, or a related field.
• Operational management and business analysis experience required.
• Demonstrated business acumen and relationship management capability with a collaborative team based approach.
• Excellent written, reporting, and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, business, and operational oversight of all administrative services.
• Ensure service outcomes are achieved with a focus on patient-centred care and equitable access.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to meet health targets and enhance patient care and experience.
• Assist in quality improvement projects and manage day-to-day timetable changes and leave coverage.
