Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a reliable IT Systems Administrator for our client in Queenstown to manage the network and server infrastructure, ensuring security and high availability.

You will install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot servers, networks, and related hardware and software, with a proactive, detail-oriented approach. A IT/CS degree and 3+ years of experience are required, with strong problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience as an IT Systems Administrator or similar role.
• Proven experience managing Windows Server environments and Active Directory.
• Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs).
• Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
• Familiarity with cybersecurity principles and best practices.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain Windows/Linux server operating systems and related services.
• Manage and monitor network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
• Perform regular system backups and ensure data recovery procedures are effective.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues, providing timely resolutions.
• Implement and enforce IT security policies and procedures to protect company data.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
• Provide technical support to end-users as needed.
