Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a National Financial Capability Coordinator to lead The Salvation Army's Financial Mentoring Service across New Zealand. The role will oversee service quality, programme development, reporting and stakeholder relationships from Auckland or Wellington.

You will work with Centre Managers nationwide to strengthen delivery, build capability and improve client outcomes, while guiding policy standards and professional development pathways within a dispersed network.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in financial capability, financial mentoring, community services, or social development sectors.
• Skilled at building relationships and influencing outcomes across a distributed network through collaboration.
• Experience leading service improvement, innovation, or change initiatives delivering positive client outcomes.
• Strong communication, facilitation, coaching and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Committed to The Salvation Army's mission, values and cultural responsiveness.

• Provide national oversight and leadership of The Salvation Army's Financial Mentoring Service.
• Partner with Centre Managers and local teams to strengthen service delivery, capability and client outcomes across the network.
• Develop and maintain policies, procedures, quality standards, reporting frameworks and professional development pathways.
• Build and maintain strategic relationships with MSD, FinCap, Community Finance and other stakeholders.
• Lead service development initiatives to strengthen, innovate and reimagine TSA's Financial Mentoring to meet sector and community needs.

About the Role:

This national role provides leadership and coordination for The Salvation Army's Financial Mentoring Service. Working closely with centres across the country, you will oversee service quality, programme development, reporting, training, and stakeholder relationships while driving the future direction of the service. This is an opportunity to strengthen Financial Mentoring across New Zealand, ensuring it responds effectively to emerging challenges, changing sector expectations, and the needs of the communities we serve.

What will your responsibilities be:

• Provide national oversight and leadership of The Salvation Army's Financial Mentoring Service
• Partner with Centre Managers and local teams to strengthen service delivery, capability, and client outcomes across the network

Our ideal candidate will:

• Have significant experience within the financial capability, financial mentoring, community services, or social development sectors
• Be skilled at building relationships and influencing outcomes across a distributed network where leadership is achieved through collaboration rather than direct management
• Have demonstrated experience leading service improvement, innovation, or change initiatives that deliver positive outcomes for clients and communities
• Possess strong communication, facilitation, coaching, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to connect effectively with a wide range of audiences
• Be committed to The Salvation Army's mission and values, with an understanding of cultural responsiveness and a passion for improving outcomes for individuals and whānau

This role is permanent part-time andhours worked will be 30 hours per week.

The starting salary for this role will fall between $90,000 and $105,000 pro rata per annum, dependent on skills and experience.
