Job summary

Livestock Improvement Corporation (LIC) is seeking a National Field Operations Manager for Herd Testing. Based in Hamilton with hybrid options, you’ll lead the national delivery of herd testing services through our Depot and Team Leader network, ensuring safe, efficient and customer-focused operations.

You’ll shape strategy, build capability, and drive standardisation across NZ, guiding field methods and performance while partnering with LIC teams to deliver outcomes for farmers and communities.

Qualifications

• Experience leading complex, geographically dispersed operations.
• Ability to translate strategy into actionable field execution.
• Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead nationwide delivery of Herd Testing field and depot operations.
• Direct Depot and Team Leaders to build capability, alignment and consistent execution.
• Drive standardisation of field methods and operating practices nationwide.
• Partner with Field Operations Technical Manager on agreed ways of working.
• Champion safer-by-design work methods and equipment to reduce risk.
• Manage national resources—people, assets, and fleet—and meet operational/financial targets.
• Use data/insights to identify risks, opportunities and priorities for improvement.
• Collaborate with LIC teams to deliver integrated outcomes for customers and guide future Herd Testing strategy.
