Job summary

CORDE is seeking a competent Mower Operator/Sprayer to support the Waimakariri District Council Road Maintenance network. The role involves mowing with a tractor, urban chemical applications, line trimming, vegetation control, and spraying maintenance across footpaths and channels.

Responsibilities

• Operate a tractor mower and perform urban chemical spraying.

• Work across the Waimakariri District Council road maintenance network.
• Take ownership of day-to-day tasks and maintain safe work practices.

About the role | Ko te kaupapa

We’re shifting into our summer season and we’re searching for a competent, experienced Mower Operator/Sprayer to join the team. In this role you’d be out across the wider Waimak operating a tractor mower and doing urban chemical application duties on a scheduled and reactive basis. You’d also use a variety of small plant, line trimming, vegetation control, and spraying maintenance across footpaths, kerb and channels.

This role gives you a high level of ownership and job satisfaction, and responsibility for your day-to-day activities. You’ll be someone who works quickly and efficiently while delivering quality work. Excellent communication skills and the ability to use technology on the go are a must. It’s year round work, when mowing and spraying ease off over winter, you’ll join our maintenance crews.

What you’ll bring | Ko ngā pukenga ōu

• Full Class 1 Driver Licence (essential)
• Grow Safe certificate (desirable)
• WTR endorsements (desirable)
• Ability to identify hazards and work safely around plant and equipment
• Physically fit and self-motivated and ability to work unsupervised with a positive attitude
• Health and safety conscious and ability to use common sense
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical, drug, and alcohol test prior to employment.
