Job summary

Kiwi Mortgages Limited is seeking a motivated Mortgage Adviser to join our Auckland CBD team. You will work directly with clients to assess their financial needs, recommend mortgage products, and guide them through the loan application process.

Qualifications

  • NZ Certificate in Financial Services Level 5 required for Residential Property Lending.
  • Experience in mortgage advising, broking, or related financial services role.
  • Strong knowledge of mortgage products and home loan processes.

Responsibilities

  • Meet with clients to understand financial circumstances and borrowing needs.
  • Assess eligibility and recommend suitable mortgage solutions.
  • Prepare loan applications and supporting documents for lenders.
  • Explain terms, rates, and repayment options clearly.
  • Maintain client records in compliance with regulations.
  • Coordinate with lenders, solicitors, valuers and other parties.
  • Support clients through the application and settlement process.
  • Identify opportunities to cross-sell other financial products.
  • Stay informed on mortgage products, rates and market trends.
  • Aim to achieve mortgage origination targets.

About the role

We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Mortgage Adviser to join our team at our Auckland CBD office on a full-time basis. In this role, you will be at the heart of helping Kiwis achieve their property ownership dreams. You will work directly with clients to assess their financial needs, recommend suitable mortgage products, and guide them through the application process. This position is crucial to our business, as you will be responsible for building strong client relationships whilst driving our revenue growth and maintaining our reputation for excellence in the mortgage industry.

Key responsibilities
  • Meet with prospective and existing clients to understand their financial circumstances, property goals, and borrowing requirements
  • Assess client eligibility for various mortgage products and recommend suitable solutions tailored to their needs
  • Prepare detailed loan applications and supporting documentation for submission to lenders
  • Explain mortgage terms, conditions, interest rates, and repayment options in a clear and professional manner
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate client records in compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Liaise with lenders, solicitors, valuers, and other third parties to facilitate smooth loan processing
  • Provide ongoing support to clients throughout the mortgage application and settlement process
  • Identify opportunities to cross-sell additional financial products and services
  • Stay informed about current mortgage products, interest rates, and industry trends
  • Achieve agreed mortgage origination targets and contribute to team performance goals
What we’re looking for
  • New Zealand Certificate in Financial Services (Level 5) (Residential Property Lending) qualified
  • Demonstrated experience in mortgage advising, mortgage broking, or a related role within the financial services industry
  • Strong knowledge of mortgage products, lending criteria, and the home loan application process
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to clients
  • Proficiency in computer systems and mortgage broking software platforms
  • A thorough understanding of relevant financial services laws and regulations, including the Financial Markets Conduct Act 2013
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities with the capacity to manage multiple client files simultaneously
  • A commitment to providing exceptional customer service and building lasting client relationships
  • Proven sales ability and a track record of achieving targets
  • Professional integrity and a genuine desire to act in clients’ best interests
