Job summary

New Zealand Health Group in Rotorua, North Island, is seeking a mechanically minded technician to service and repair wheelchair and disability equipment. This full-time role involves working with clients in homes and community settings across the Bay of Plenty.

You will perform annual servicing, repairs, and custom fittings with therapists, using power and hand tools. The team offers training, a supportive environment, and opportunities to make a real difference in the lives of clients.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years hands-on mechanical/electrical experience
• Enjoy solving problems, being creative and learning new skills
• Flexible, organised and self motivated
• Passion for making a real difference in clients' lives
• Know your way around power/hand tools
• EAS qualification or equivalent – preferred
• Ability to use IT at an intermediate level; experience with asset management or job management system is advantageous
• Full, clean driver’s license; ability to travel distances as needed
• Right to work in NZ

Responsibilities

• Annual servicing of disability equipment such as wheelchairs, hoists, and hospital beds
• Repairs on a diverse range of wheelchairs and disability equipment
• Adjusting and modifying both manual and power wheelchairs to suit the client
• Fitting special seating supports alongside therapists
