Job summary

Goodman Fielder in Christchurch is seeking an Operator Assistant/Production Operator to join the Fresh Milk dairy team. You will report to the Team Leader and help optimise the production line while maintaining safety and quality standards.

The role involves operating dairy processing equipment, monitoring performance, and supporting the manufacturing function toward world-class standards. You must be physically capable of lifting up to 20 kg and willing to learn.

Qualifications

• Good aptitude and literacy (numerical and computer skills).
• Willingness to learn and develop.
• Previous dairy experience is beneficial.
• Previous FMCG experience preferred.
• Machine operation experience advantageous.
• A level of mechanical aptitude desired.
• Honesty and effective communication.
• Ability to follow good manufacturing practices (GMP).
• Physically capable of carrying 20kgs and working on your feet for long periods.

We are currently looking for Operator Assistant to join our Milk Station (Fresh Milk) at our dairy manufacturing site in Christchurch. The successful applicant will report to the Team Leader and be an integral member of the Production team. The Operator Assistant will be required to optimise resource use, ensure production targets are met, ensure all compliance procedures are followed and to ensure all health and safety processes are followed while carrying out a variety of tasks in the processing areas and to support the production team develop the Manufacturing function towards World Class standards

Location: Meadowfresh site, Christchurch

Role: Production Operator/General Hand

Shift: Rotating Shift pattern - 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on, 2 days off, 2 days on / 3 days off

FRESH MILK DEPARTMENT

Production operating with Goodman Fielder involves overseeing and managing the manufacturing process to ensure that products are created efficiently, safely, and to the required quality standards. This role typically includes tasks such as monitoring equipment, coordinating with different departments, troubleshooting issues, and implementing process improvements. Production operators are responsible for operating machinery used in the dairy manufacturing process. Operators must be skilled in handling various types of machinery and be able to quickly address any mechanical issues that arise to prevent downtime and maintain productivity. This role is physically demanding involving lifting and standing on your feet for extended periods so please be prepared.
