Job summary

Summerset's Boulcott Village Memory Care Centre in Lower Hutt, Wellington, seeks an experienced Registered Nurse (Part Time) to deliver resident-directed care for people living with dementia in a secure, supportive environment.

You will lead care provision, develop personalised plans, and work closely with residents, families and staff. NZ Registered Nurse with Practising Certificate, InterRai training, and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• NZ Registration and current Practising Certificate is required.
• Experience in memory care unit or dementia residence is essential.
• InterRai Training is required.
• Genuine interest in working with older people and understanding clinical services in retirement villages.
• Ability to lead, stay calm under pressure, and be emotionally resilient.
• Strong communication skills and rapport with residents, families and staff.

Responsibilities

• Support residents with activities of daily living.
• Co-create personalised care plans.
• Lead and delegate care provision to caregivers and support staff.
• Ensure timely delivery of care and support.
• Monitor and evaluate progress with the resident and their representatives.
• Build trusted therapeutic relationships with residents and whānau.
