Job summary

Rocket Lab's Launch Technician I - Mechanical role is based at our Mahia site in Gisborne, New Zealand. You will be integral in enabling high-rate launches by assembling and maintaining critical launch systems, working with a tight-knit team of technicians and engineers.

Qualifications include experience with large structures, machining and fabrication, and fluid systems such as pneumatic, cryogenic or hydraulic. Ability to read detailed drawings and relocate to Mahia are valued assets.

Qualifications

• Experience assembling large structures and mechanisms.
• Machining and fabrication experience.
• Experience with fluid systems (pneumatic, cryogenic or hydraulic).
• Ability to read and follow detailed schematics and drawings.
• Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Legally eligible to work in New Zealand.

Responsibilities

• Assemble launch pad systems, structures and hardware.
• Precision cleaning of critical components and assemblies.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues on launch pad systems.
• Support smooth integration of launch pads and vehicles.
