Job summary

Rocket Lab’s Mahia site in New Zealand is hiring a Launch Technician I - Mechanical to help assemble, test, operate and maintain critical launch systems for high cadence missions. You will join a tight-knit team of technicians and engineers dedicated to delivering reliable launch hardware.

You will work with heavy structures, fluid systems and electrical components, following detailed schematics, while meeting strict deadlines in a role that combines hands-on building with troubleshooting and

Qualifications

  • Experience in assembling large structures and mechanisms.
  • Experience in machining and fabrication.
  • Experience with fluid systems – pneumatic, cryogenic and/or hydraulics.
  • Ability to read, understand and follow detailed schematics, drawings and instructions.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
  • Working rights in New Zealand.
  • Ability to relocate and/or work in Mahia (rural location).

Responsibilities

  • Fit-out, assemble and install launch pad systems and hardware.
  • Precision cleaning of critical components.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues on launch pad systems.
  • Ensure high launch pad and vehicle integrations are smooth.
