Inition invites a capable Mechanical/Mechatronics engineer to join our Christchurch, Wellington or Auckland team. You’ll own mechanical design on real projects from concept through build and test, tackling ill-defined problems and making critical calls.

You’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary engineers and clients, ensuring quality and clear communication. We value curiosity, practical problem-solving, and growth.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical or Mechatronics) or equivalent is expected.
• Experience owning engineering work on real projects, including graduate-level work.
• Confidence with 3D CAD (SolidWorks) and engineering calculations to the relevant standards.
• Care for quality and the habit of asking early when a decision isn’t yours to make.
• Curiosity and comfort solving problems with no clear precedent.
• Bonus: FEA, Python, AS 3533, or CPEng.
• Experience leading or mentoring others is nice to have but not required.

Aufgaben

• Own mechanical design work on real projects, from first concept through to build and test.
• Work through problems that aren’t fully defined, often with no clear precedent, and change course when something isn’t working.
• Make the calls that are yours to make, and raise the risky ones early.
• Check your work before anyone else sees it, and help others do the same.
• Work alongside engineers from other disciplines, designers, technicians and clients, and explain your thinking plainly.
• Share what you know, and give and take honest feedback.
