Placements24 is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their Queenstown team, focusing on innovative mechanical systems for renewable energy applications. The role involves concept design, analysis, and prototyping to deliver reliable, efficient solutions that meet industry standards.

You will work with electrical, software, and manufacturing teams to integrate subsystems into complete systems and will contribute to ongoing improvements in design processes and product quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required.
• 3–5 years of mechanical design and development experience preferred.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD software and FEA tools.
• Strong understanding of mechanics, materials science, and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components and systems for renewable energy equipment using 3D CAD software.
• Perform structural, thermal, and dynamic analyses to ensure design integrity under environmental conditions.
• Create detailed drawings, specifications, and BOMs.
• Collaborate with electrical and software teams to integrate designs into full systems.
• Oversee prototyping, testing, and validation of designs; implement improvements.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental requirements.
• Research new materials and technologies to enhance performance and efficiency.
• Contribute to design process improvements and product reliability.
• Prepare technical documentation for project stakeholders.
