Job summary

Stantec's Water team in New Zealand is seeking a CPEng Chartered structural engineer with at least 10 years of consulting experience to deliver projects from investigation to construction. You will work collaboratively with clients and colleagues across Asia Pacific, and travel across the South Island as required.

This is an exciting opportunity for a professional engineer with a proven track record of successfully delivering projects to work collaboratively with our clients and colleagues across Asia Pacific. You will have a chance to work on projects from the initial investigation right through to completion or construction. This opportunity is likely to involve some travel in the South Island.

About you:

You’ll be a CPEng Chartered structural engineer with at least 10 years’ professional experience in the consulting industry including multi-disciplinary design projects. You’ll have experience in water and/or transportation infrastructure projects, ideally including industrial/utility buildings or pump station buildings and water retention structures, or a good understanding of transportation infrastructure projects.

The role in a snapshot will encompass the following:
  • Planning, management and delivery of detailed structural designs, including senior checks and reviews, across a variety of transportation and water related infrastructure projects.
  • Technical advice and leadership across the Structural Discipline
  • Project leadership including design and construct project delivery methods
  • Technical report writing, including ability to carry out structural assessments, inspections, risk assessment and asset management plans
  • Construction supervision support as required
  • Working closely with project teams and project managers to ensure timely and cost-efficient delivery
  • Mentoring and development of junior team members
