Job summary

Taylor Preston Ltd, a leading NZ meat processor and exporter, is seeking an experienced Processing Manager to lead busy production operations in Wellington. This full-time leadership role reports to the Plant Manager and focuses on efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement across production areas.

Key duties include managing day-to-day operations, mentoring foremen and staff, overseeing labour rostering and performance reporting, and ensuring HACCP, GMP and WHS compliance.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in Processing management within food manufacturing.
• Strong leadership skills to develop high-performing teams.
• In-depth knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and WHS.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making.
• Hands-on approach focused on culture, safety and quality.
• Ability to analyse data and drive efficiency improvements.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day production operations with smooth workflow and quality output.
• Lead and mentor Foremen, team leaders, and production staff.
• Oversee labour utilisation, rostering, and performance reporting.
• Ensure compliance with HACCP, GMP, and health & safety standards.
• Implement process improvements to reduce waste and maximise throughput.
• Manage budgets for labour, stock adjustments, trials, and overtime.
• Conduct performance reviews, succession planning, and staff training.
• Collaborate across departments to achieve operational and strategic goals.
