Foodstuffs South Island Limited is seeking a hands-on Butchery Manager to lead a busy Rangiora butchery department. You will oversee daily operations, drive quality, and manage a skilled team while maintaining strong profit and compliance with safety standards.

The role demands a trade-qualified butcher with leadership experience, a deep knowledge of meat cuts, and the ability to keep the department competitive through merchandising and customer focus.

Qualifications

• Trade-qualified butcher with at least 3 years management experience.
• Strong knowledge of meat cuts, processing and quality standards.
• Organisational and time-management skills essential; inventory systems knowledge a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Inspire, lead, train, and motivate butchers and apprentices.
• Manage sales, gross profit, and wage budgets.
• Ensure food safety and health & safety requirements are met to high standards.
• Oversee cutting, preparation, presentation, and value-added products.
• Deliver excellent customer service and maintain department standards.
