Job summary

Alexandra New World in Alexandra, Otago, is seeking an experienced Butchery Manager to lead the department. This hands-on role combines butchery expertise with people leadership to run day-to-day operations, stock, hygiene and high service standards.

You will manage a small butchery team, schedule rosters, train staff, create displays, and ensure cost control. Minimum 3 years in butchery and supervisory experience required; interviews will be held as applications are received.

Alexandra New World is a proudly family-owned supermarket serving the Central Otago community.

We are seeking an experienced and motivatedButchery Managerto lead our butchery department. This is a hands-on leadership role combining butchery and management responsibilities. As Butchery Manager, you will lead the day-to-day operations of the department.

You’ll be joining a close-knit Butchery team of 10, made up of four qualified butchers alongside apprentices, knife hands, packers and students. It’s a supportive environment where everyone pitches in, works closely together and takes pride in what they do.

We’re happy to discuss rostered days and flexibility to make the role work for the right candidate. Shifts start at 5.00am, with full-time hours typically ranging from 40-45 hours per week.

About You
