Job summary

Tarawera High School in the Bay of Plenty is seeking a certificated teacher to cover Mathematics and Statistics for a fixed-term maternity leave. The role spans secondary levels (Years 7–15) and wharekura, with a literacy and numeracy focus.

Start date is 2 February 2027 and end date 17 December 2027. A valid NZ work visa or permanent residency is required; NZ-wide residents will be prioritized.

Qualifications

• NCEA knowledge essential.
• Applicants must have a valid New Zealand work visa or permanent residency.
• Experience teaching across years 7–15 and wharekura is preferred.
• Certificated teacher qualification is required.

Responsibilities

• Teach Mathematics and Statistics to students across secondary and senior levels.
• Contribute to literacy and numeracy initiatives within the school.
• Collaborate with primary, intermediate and secondary teachers and beginning teachers.
