Job summary

Ōrewa College is seeking an enthusiastic mathematics teacher to join our collaborative department from term 1, 2027. This fixed-term position covers a staff member on refreshment leave for 2027.

At senior level, we offer courses across statistics and calculus, with students engaging in NZQA Scholarship. We invite you to state your preferred specialist areas for Levels 2 and 3 and contribute to our growing Te Reo Māori programme and Ako Ōrewa philosophy.

Qualifications

• Registered certificated teacher with NZ registration.
• Experience teaching secondary level mathematics and statistics.
• Interest in Shaping department development and student outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Teach Mathematics and Statistics to Years 7–13 (including wharekura).
• Contribute to department development and instructional coaching.
• Engage with NZQA Scholarship courses at senior level (Levels 2 and 3).
• Support Te Reo Māori programme and Ako Ōrewa philosophy.
• Participate in co-curricular activities and school life.

The successful applicant will have high expectations for ākonga and be keen to help shape the development of the department.

At senior level, we offer a range of courses across statistics, calculus, with students also engaging in NZQA Scholarship. Please state your preferred specialist area(s) for Levels 2 and 3.
