Job summary

Orewa College is seeking an enthusiastic Humanities/ Social Sciences teacher to join our collaborative department from Term 1, 2027. This fixed-term role covers a staff leave for 2027, with teaching across Years 7–13 and senior courses such as History and Geography.

The successful applicant will hold high expectations for ākonga, engage in school-wide instructional coaching, and contribute to Te Whānau Taipari Te Reo Māori programme, while supporting co-curricular endeavours and school values.

  • Prepare students for NZQA Scholarship where appropriate.

We are seeking an enthusiastic Humanities teacher to join our collaborative department from Term 1, 2027. This is a fixed-term position covering a staff member on leave for 2027.

The successful applicant will have high expectations for ākonga and be keen to help shape the development of the department.

At senior level, we offer courses such as History, Geography, Classical Studies, Psychology, Tourism, with students also engaging in NZQA Scholarship. Please state your preferred specialist area(s) for Levels 2 and 3.

At Ōrewa College, we have a strong focus on professional growth, including a developing school-wide approach to instructional coaching, where teachers work alongside colleagues to strengthen practice and improve outcomes for ākonga.
