Job summary

Auckland Physiotherapy in Newmarket, Auckland is seeking a highly skilled massage therapist to work closely with physiotherapists, Pilates instructors and personal trainers. The role emphasizes a team approach, with strong communication across the team and clients to deliver holistic care.

The successful candidate will have a Diploma or Degree in Sports Therapy or Remedial Massage, 3+ years of experience, and the ability to assess, plan and deliver high quality massage treatments.

Qualifications

We are looking for a highly skilled massage therapist that can work closely with physiotherapists, Pilates instructors and personal trainers. We believe in a team approach to looking after our clients so feel the best way to foster this is through constant communication across the team (including our fantastic clients).

Skills and experience

Applicants will need to have:

• Adequate massage qualifications. Ideally a Diploma or Degree in Sports Therapy or Remedial Massage.Experience with other types of massage is beneficial.
• Over 3 years of experience.
• Ability to assess, plan and deliver high quality sports and remedial massage. This includes the treatment of soft tissue, musculoskeletal dysfunction, and sporting injuries.
• Ability to perform various therapies including; deep tissue, trigger point and soft tissue (myofascial release) massage.
• Ability to provide rehabilitation therapy in a clinical massage setting taking into account biomechanical, biochemical and psychosocial elements. This includes basic exercise prescription within the scope of massage therapy.
• The knowledge to know massage therapy and exercise prescription contraindications and when it is appropriate to refer to a Doctor/ Physiotherapist.
• Excellent communication and people skills, including working with physiotherapists to deliver holistic treatment for musculoskeletal conditions.
• Consistent professional attitude and appearance.
