Global Wave Group in Auckland is urgently seeking two experienced Chinese Chefs to join our busy kitchen team. You will plan and organise food preparation, oversee operations, and ensure every dish meets high quality standards expected by our guests.

The role requires a strong focus on hygiene, a team-oriented mindset, and the ability to train and lead kitchen staff in a dynamic Chinese restaurant environment.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years cooking experience.
• Relevant cookery qualification or certificate preferable.
• Attention to details and a hard-working attitude.
• Reliable, friendly and professional manner.
• Strong focus on food hygiene and cleanliness.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all dishes meet the restaurant’s quality standards.
• Plan and organise food preparation and cooking.
• Oversee kitchen operations and monitor dish quality.
• Coordinate kitchen staff and discuss issues with managers.
• Train kitchen staff and demonstrate cooking techniques.
• Prepare and cook a variety of Chinese dishes.
• Manage stock and place orders to replenish supplies.
• Enforce food hygiene, safety and sanitation standards.
• Create new recipes and improve dishes to keep the menu fresh.
