Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a Manager, Schools Partnerships to join the Student Recruitment Pathwaysteam on a permanent, full-time basis. This Wellington-based role is an exciting opportunity to strengthen the University's connections with secondary schools and help shape the future educational pathways of students across the region.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead and deliver customised school engagement programmes that increase the University's profile and strengthen relationships with Wellington secondary schools.
  • Use data, analysis and stakeholder insights to inform recruitment strategies and support enrolment growth.
  • Drive the ongoing development, delivery and evaluation of the VicStart programme.
  • Build collaborative partnerships across schools, faculties and professional services teams to identify and implement new recruitment opportunities.
  • Provide strategic advice and contribute to projects that support the University's growth objectives and student recruitment goals.

You are a highly skilled relationship builder and strategic thinker who is passionate about education and creating opportunities for future students. You bring a collaborative approach, thrive in complex stakeholder environments, and have a proven ability to turn ideas into successful outcomes.

Key requirements:

  • Extensive experience in student recruitment, marketing, business development, education, or a related field, preferably within the tertiary sector.
  • Demonstrated project management experience, including planning, implementation, evaluation and reporting.
  • Exceptional communication, influencing and stakeholder relationship management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to use insights and data to drive decision-making.
  • A commitment to educational equity, student success, and the application of Te Tiriti o Waitangi in an educational context.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and workstreams simultaneously.
