Job description

Jora New Zealand will close on 9th September 2026. Thank you for being with us, we are cheering you on as you continue your career journey.

Manager, Organisational Development
  • Auckland or Wellington location.
  • High-impact OD leadership role.
  • Incredible benefits + great team
About the role

We are excited to be recruiting a Manager, Organisational Development to lead a talented, close-knit team and drive the organisation's people, capability and culture agenda through the design and delivery of initiatives that advance enterprise capability.

This is a fantastic opportunity to shape the bigger picture, influence senior leaders and build enduring frameworks, while remaining hands-on and ensuring great ideas translate into meaningful outcomes.

This organisation is large enough to offer meaningful, enterprise-wide work, but small enough that you can get things moving and see the difference you are making. Reporting to the Head of People you’ll join a trusted, values-driven team who genuinely enjoy what they do.

Your portfolio will span organisational design, leadership capability, learning, workforce planning, engagement, performance, culture and change. Current priorities focus on strengthening leadership capability, enhancing organisational effectiveness, supporting workforce planning, and delivering initiatives that build a high-performing and engaged workforce.

What you will do:
  • Lead and develop a talented OD team, creating an environment where people can do their best work.
  • Shape a practical OD and capability plan aligned to organisational needs.
  • Build trusted relationships with senior leaders and stakeholders across the business.
  • Lead initiatives across leadership, learning and capability, engagement, performance, culture and organisational effectiveness.
  • Turn workforce insights into clear priorities and practical action.
  • Support leaders and teams through change and transformation.
Who you will be

First and foremost, you’ll be a great people leader and an awesome human. You’ll be down to earth, collaborative, enjoy having a laugh and be happy to roll up your sleeves. You’ll be practical, curious and comfortable working in complex environments. You can think strategically and translate ideas into practical frameworks, programmes and solutions that make a real difference.

You’ll enjoy understanding what leaders and teams need, and finding solutions that are thoughtful, realistic and right for the organisation.

You’ll bring strong OD/L&D experience across areas such as leadership, culture, capability, workforce planning, engagement and organisational effectiveness. You’ll also be confident influencing senior leaders, leading complex change and designing organisation-wide programmes. The team is based across Wellington and Auckland, so monthly travel between the two locations is likely to be required.

Why this role?
  • A hybrid 3:2 working model, with two days working from home.
  • An awesome, supportive team who genuinely enjoy what they do and who they work with.
  • Paid life and health insurance.
  • A 4% employer KiwiSaver contribution.
  • Ongoing learning and development, plus a range of other benefits.
