Job summary

Bank of New Zealand is seeking an experienced assurance professional to join our Risk team as Manager - External Reporting Assurance on a 12-month fixed-term contract based in Auckland.

You will lead assurance over BNZ’s financial and regulatory reporting, assess risks and controls, and provide independent guidance to strengthen the accuracy and integrity of BNZ’s external reporting with senior stakeholders across Finance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in external audit, internal audit, or assurance.
• Experience communicating findings and influencing senior management.
• Sound understanding of controls and risk in financial services.

Responsibilities

• Lead assurance reviews over financial and regulatory reporting processes.
• Assess risks and controls and evaluate the accuracy and appropriateness of external reporting.
• Partner with Finance teams to strengthen risk management practices across risk, control, issue and event management.

Education

Chartered Accountant qualification (CA ANZ, CPA, or equivalent)

MōteTūranga| About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in providing assurance over BNZ’s financial and regulatory reporting. You will work closely with Finance and senior stakeholders across BNZ to assess risks and controls, review reporting processes, and help strengthen risk management practices.

You will bring an objective and independent perspective, providing valuablechallenge, oversight, guidance, and advice to support the accuracy and integrity of BNZ’s external reporting obligations.

What are 5 day-to-day tasks the person in this role will complete?

• Lead assurance reviews over financial and regulatory reporting processes.
• Assess risks and controls andevaluatethe accuracy,completenessand appropriateness of external reporting.
• Partner with Finance teams to strengthen risk management practices across risk, control,issueand event management activities.
• Support oversight of change initiatives and risk reporting.
• Build trusted relationships with stakeholders across Finance and the wider Bank, providing practical advice and guidance.

• Experience communicating findings and influencing senior management.
• Chartered Accountant qualification, such as CA ANZ, CPA, or equivalent.
• Experience in risk management within the financial services sector.
