Job summary

Aotearoa New Zealand Association of Social Workers in Auckland seeks a proactive finance professional to support budgeting, forecasting and costing for a $50m distribution business. You will work in a small, collaborative team reporting to the Finance Manager NZ.

Responsibilities include variance analysis, management reporting, audit readiness, and improving finance processes and systems, including automation. Candidates should have 3–5 years accounting experience and strong ERP/Excel skills.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Desirable experience in distribution, supply chain, logistics or FMCG.
• Understanding of stock/inventory management.
• Proficiency with Tier 1/2 ERP systems and Excel.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support annual budgeting, forecasting and costing with department heads.
• Analyse actuals versus budget and forecasts, identify variances and provide insights.
• Assist with management reporting, financial statements, compliance, audit and controls.
• Identify opportunities to improve finance and administration processes, incl. automation and cost efficiencies.
• Investigate system issues, identify root causes and implement improvements to processes and reporting.
• Support implementation of new systems and processes, including user training.

The Role

This role reports to the FM (NZ) and works part of a small, collaborative and tight knit team. It will play a key role in the supporting all elements of the local finance function ($50m business). Some of your key responsibilities are:

• Support annual budgeting, forecasting and costing processes, working with department heads to gather information and monitor performance.
• Analyse actuals against budget and forecasts, identify variances and provide insights on key business and financial performance indicators.
• Assist with management reporting, financial statements, compliance, audit and maintaining strong financial controls.
• Identify opportunities to improve finance and administration processes, including automation, cost efficiencies and better use of technology.
• Investigate system issues, identify root causes and implement improvements to processes, functionality and reporting.
• Support the implementation of new systems and processes, including user training and monitoring the effectiveness of improvements.

• Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in accounting roles
• Experience within distribution, supply chain, logistics, or FMCG industries highly desirable
• An understanding of stock/inventory
• Proficiency in Tier 1 or 2 ERP systems and strong Excel skills
• Strong analytical and communication skills
• Ability to hit the ground running and contribute from day one
• A roll up your sleeves attitude and happy pitching in across the board
