Job summary

Whitehall Fruitpackers Ltd in the Waikato region is seeking a hands-on management accountant to support horticulture, farming and apiculture operations. You will work closely with the CFO in a small finance team, preparing monthly management accounts and providing financial insights from the vines to the board.

The role covers budgeting, forecasting, cashflow management, year-end reporting, GST returns and payroll support, with opportunities to improve processes and systems in a growing business.

Qualifications

• A degree in Accounting, Finance or Business.
• CA or equivalent qualification (or working towards it).
• Management accounting experience (or similar).
• Confident with Xero and Excel, with good analytical skills.
• Clear communicator who builds good relationships.
• A practical, hands-on approach and willingness to get involved.
• High attention to detail and a desire to continuously improve processes.
• Experience in horticulture or agriculture is a bonus but not essential.

Whitehall Fruitpackers is one of the Waikato's leading horticultural businesses, with more than 300 canopy hectares of green, red and gold kiwifruit, including a strong organic production focus. Our operations also extend across dairy farming, dry stock, tourism and apiaries, providing a varied and interesting role. Reporting to our CFO, you'll be part of a small finance team, supporting multiple entities. This is a hands-on role working amongst kiwifruit vines and in brand new office building with a pool and gym.

About you
