Job summary

Persol in Hastings, Hawke's Bay, is seeking an aspiring Finance Analyst to support financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, GST compliance and transactional finance, gaining hands-on exposure beside the Accountant.

You'll prepare reports, assist with monthly management accounts, variance analysis, and improve reporting templates while contributing to accurate and timely financial information in a collaborative, learning-focused team.

Qualifications

• Formal qualification in accounting/finance/commerce or related field.
• Strong Excel skills and familiarity with ERP/accounting systems.
• Experience with MYOB ExoNet is advantageous.
• Exposure to Power BI or similar reporting tools is beneficial.
• Attention to detail and organisational skills are important.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and delivering financial reports.

This role offers exposure to financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, GST compliance, and transactional finance, providing an excellent platform for career development. Working closely with the Accountant, you'll gain hands-on experience across a broad range of finance functions while contributing to the delivery of accurate and timely financial information.

What We're Looking For

• Exposure to Accounts Payable and/or Accounts Receivable processes
• Understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• Proactive attitude and willingness to learn
• Ability to work collaboratively in a hands-on team environment
