We’re looking for a trade-qualified Maintenance Fitter/Engineer to join our maintenance team and help keep our manufacturing plant running safely and reliably. This is the mechanical trade role within our maintenance team where you’ll work alongside production crews and site leaders to maintain equipment, respond to breakdowns and identify practical ways to improve plant reliability and performance. Your work will include:
Identify and implement maintenance improvement opportunities
Achieve maintenance and reliability targets by optimising productivity and minimising downtime
Implement continuous improvements to enhance operational performance
Work closely with production teams and onsite leadership
Champion and maintain high standards of health and safety practices
A New Zealand Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Level 4, or an equivalent recognised mechanical trade qualification
Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
Experience with pneumatic and hydraulic machinery, industrial automation or controls experience advantageous
The ability to understand technical information and maintain accurate records
A team player who can also work independently, with strong initiative, time management, and communication skills
A full and valid New Zealand driver’s licence
The successful candidate will work a rotating shift roster, with overtime required from time to time to support plant operations. You will need to be physically fit and, as part of our recruitment process for this safety-sensitive role, the preferred candidate will be required to complete a pre-employment medical assessment, including drug and alcohol testing.
This role works rotating shifts:
Currently four 10 hour shifts per week
At times five 8 hour shifts, depending on operational needs
Participation in an on-call roster is required. This roster provides after-hours maintenance support to help keep the plant operating safely and reliably
INEX undertakes an annual plant shutdown during the Christmas and New Year period. Maintenance team members play an important role during this time, completing planned maintenance, repair and improvement work across the site.
