Job summary

Sanford is seeking a maintenance-focused professional to help keep our salmon processing plant, port, vessels and Stewart Island farm safe and running smoothly. You’ll perform preventative maintenance, repair machinery, troubleshoot faults and support production to keep things moving.

We welcome hands-on experience across maintenance, mechanical or engineering contexts, with a practical, problem-solving mindset and a strong emphasis on safety.

Qualifications

• Hands-on maintenance, mechanical or engineering experience in a relevant environment.
• A practical, problem-solving approach.
• A strong focus on safety.
• Good communication and teamwork.
• A willingness to learn and develop.
• Trade qualification is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining and repairing machinery and equipment across the plant and sites.
• Troubleshooting faults and responding to breakdowns.
• Working with pumps, conveyors and processing equipment.
• Completing preventive maintenance.
• Supporting production to keep things moving.
• Recording maintenance work and identifying improvements.
