Job summary

Presbyterian Support Otago (PSO) is seeking a Maintenance Person to carry out repairs and maintenance across Ranui and Castlewood in Alexandra. The role ensures facilities are safe and attractive for residents, staff and visitors through hands-on work and regular checks.

This permanent, part-time position offers on-the-job training and the opportunity to contribute to a respected charitable organisation. A current driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Practical hands-on experience with a wide variety of repairs.
• Able to work in a team and manage time effectively.
• Good organisational skills to liaise with contractors and suppliers.
• Be physically fit and able to perform manual tasks.
• Hold a current driver's license.
• NZ trades certification or relevant qualification (not essential).

Responsibilities

• Carry out repairs and maintenance across Ranui and Castlewood facilities.
• Liaise with contractors and suppliers as needed.
• Conduct maintenance checks and safety inspections.
• Keep external areas clean and tidy and ensure spaces are safe and welcoming.

The Role

You will carry out repairs and maintenance across Ranui & Castlewood facilities and ensure the facilities and environments provide a safe and attractive space for residents, staff, and visitors. This role will involve undertaking repairs, liaising with contractors, conducting maintenance checks, and keeping external areas clean and tidy.

Hours:

Permanent, Part time; 10-20 hours per week, Monday - Fridaywith a willingness to increase to 40 hours to cover extended leave in the future.
