Job summary

Bupa Riverstone Care Home in Kelvin Grove, Palmerston North, is seeking a multi-skilled Maintenance Officer to maintain the facility, manage contractors, and support preventative maintenance.

You will keep records, control costs, and work with managers on minor refurbishment; 1–3 years of maintenance experience and a relevant qualification are preferred; NZ work entitlement is required.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years’ maintenance experience in a similar position.
• Ideally a relevant vocational or technical qualification.
• Ability to use power tools and maintenance equipment effectively and safely.
• Tech savviness with strong organisational and planning skills; prioritise tasks accurately.
• Proven ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders; work both in a team and autonomously.
• Demonstrate problem solving and outside-the-box thinking.
• Applicants must be legally entitled to work in NZ.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the facility and carry out upkeep.
• Follow preventative and planned maintenance programmes.
• Manage cost efficiency and monitor energy costs/usage for improvements.
• Keep current records of works completed and ensure compliance.
• Manage contractors when on site and negotiate with suppliers for best value.
• Participate in planning and execution of minor refurbishments with managers.
