Gisborne Hospital is seeking an experienced Maintenance Electrician to join our Building & Engineering Services team. In this hands-on role, you will undertake electrical installations, maintenance, testing, fault-finding and repairs across Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora Tairāwhiti facilities, ensuring safe, reliable operation of hospital electrical infrastructure.

You will bring NZ Registered Electrician status, a current Electrical Practising Licence, at least 5 years in industrial or

Qualifications

Current NZ Registered Electrician with a current Electrical Practising Licence.
Minimum 5 years' practical experience in industrial or commercial electrical environments.
Sound knowledge of NZ and Australian electrical standards and regulations.
Experience interpreting electrical diagrams and schematics.
Strong fault-finding, maintenance and problem solving skills.
Identify hazards and proactively manage risks in the workplace.
Basic understanding of refrigeration and HVAC systems.
Current full driver’s licence.
Excellent communication, teamwork and commitment to health and safety.

Responsabilités

Carry out electrical installations, maintenance, testing, fault-finding and repairs across Gisborne Hospital facilities.
Ensure hospital buildings, plant and equipment operate safely and efficiently.
Comply with relevant legislation and industry standards.
Support safe patient care and staff safety through reliable electrical systems.
