EVT Connect Hospitality seeks a Maintenance Assistant to keep guest rooms in top condition in Queenstown, NZ. The role requires a self-starter who can work within a team or independently to complete daily maintenance tasks and respond to guest requests.

This is a rostered position demanding weekend work and public holidays, with a minimum of 30 hours per week at a rate of NZD 25–27 per hour. You’ll coordinate with trades and help ensure rooms are ready for guest occupancy.

Qualifications

• Experience with room maintenance and guest rooms is preferred.
• Strong communication skills to liaise with hotel staff and guests.
• Good time management and punctuality to meet daily tasks.

Responsabilités

• Handle guest maintenance requests promptly and efficiently.
• Perform general handyman duties: repair, patch and paint walls.
• Coordinate external trades and suppliers as needed.
• Lead the preventative maintenance management (PMM) schedule.
• Purchase maintenance items to maintain stock and tidy storerooms.
• Support the wider hotel team and assist where needed.
• Work across a 7-day rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays.

We’re looking for a Maintenance Assistant, someone who is a self-starter and always places the needs of our guests first by ensuring a quality room is presented each time. The right person will be able to work and communicate effectively as part of a team, as well as independently to get daily maintenance tasks done.

This is a rostered position working weekends and public holidays, minimum 30 per week, $25 to $27 per hour.

What You’ll do

• Ensure all guest maintenance requests are solved in a timely manner
• General Handyman duties - including repairing, patching and painting walls
• Coordination and organization of external trades and suppliers
• Take the lead in implementing and executing a detailed preventative maintenance management (PMM) schedule
• Purchasing of maintenance items to ensure adequate stock levels are kept and storerooms are kept tidy.
• Be willing to support the wider hotel team and roll up the sleeves to help

• Be willing to work across a 7-day rotating roster as operational needs dictate
