Job summary

Working In in Wellington is hiring permanent full-time Machine Operators (Paving) to join the Asphalt Paving crew. Competitive hourly rate from $30 ph to $35 ph, with great family benefits and brand new PPE gear provided.

Join a skilled crew working mainly on public roads and motorways. You will operate rollers, pavers, graders, tractor brooms and trucks, with opportunities to up-skill within the department and occasional travel to Hawke's Bay and other regions.

Qualifications

• Minimum Class 1 Driver's Licence or overseas equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year experience operating one or more of the listed paving machines (Roller, Paver, Chip Sealing, Grader, Tractor Broom, Trucks).
• WTR licence or overseas equivalent preferred.
• Able to work nights / stay aways as required.

Responsibilities

• Operate paving and roadbuilding equipment (rollers, pavers, graders, tractor brooms, trucks).
• Assist in asphalt paving crews on public roads and motorways.
• Be physically fit and reliable in a dynamic, multi-location environment.
• Possibly travel to Hawke's Bay, Manawatu-Whanganui, Bay of Plenty as needed.

The team in Wellington is looking for permanent full-time Machine Operators (Paving) to join the Asphalt Paving crew.

You will be joining one of the paving crews who are skilled in asphalt and work the majority of the time on public roads and motorways. No two days will be the same!

You’ll be operating a range of equipment ranging from rollers, pavers, graders, tractor brooms and trucks. There is also the opportunity to up-skill within this department.

This is a full time, permanent role working a minimum of 40 hours per week between Monday and Sunday, inclusive. You will be based in Wellington region. You may also be required to travel or relocate to these other regions including Hawke's Bay, Manawatu-Whanganui, Bay of Plenty.

What you’ll bring to the role:

Minimum full Class 1 Drivers License or overseas equivalent Minimum 1-years’ experience in operating one or more of the following

• Roller
• Paver, Chip Sealing
• Grader
• Tractor Broom, Trucks

Minimum 2-year roading and infrastructure experience Prefer WTR licence or overseas equivalent Prefer with knowledge on First Aid Qualification and Bitumen Safety course Able to work nights / stay aways as required Self-motivated with a positive attitude and the ability to think for yourself A high level of physical fitness due to the physical nature of the role Be reliable, honest and a flexible team player
