Fulton Hogan in Invercargill is seeking a practical Machine Operator/Labourer to join our Surfacing Team on a permanent, full-time basis. You will operate tractors, rollers, and loaders and perform hands-on labouring within a crew, contributing to high-quality, safe outcomes across Southland projects.

Experience in surfacing or sealing is useful but not essential; a can-do attitude, mechanical aptitude, and willingness to learn are valued, with training provided to help you grow within the

• Full Class 2 licence and/or WTR endorsements preferred
• Experience in surfacing, sealing, or civil construction preferred
• Mechanical aptitude and a methodical, hands-on approach to work
• Good communication skills, reliable timekeeping, and a customer-focused attitude
• Willingness to learn and be part of a team

Job Description - Machine Operator/Labourer

At Fulton Hogan, good work starts with good people. We’re looking for a Machine Operator/Labourer to join our Surfacing Team in Invercargill on a permanent, full-time basis.

In this role, you’ll work across sealing projects throughout Southland, operating a range of plant including tractors, rollers, and loaders, while also jumping in on hands‑on labouring tasks as part of the crew. This is a practical role with variety, responsibility, and real impact on the communities we work in.

Experience in surfacing or sealing is a bonus, but it’s not essential. If you’ve got the right attitude, mechanical aptitude, and willingness to learn, we’ll back you with training and support.
