Serious Food Co is seeking a reliable Machine Operator for our Henderson, Auckland facility on a full-time basis. You will operate, monitor and maintain food processing machinery to ensure quality and safety standards are met.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Machine Operator or in a food manufacturing/production role.
• Knowledge of HACCP and food safety standards.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and schedules.
• Demonstrated accuracy and consistency in a fast-paced environment.
• Good mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting equipment issues.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Reliable, punctual and flexible with production schedules.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
• Forklift licence preferred.
• Formal qualifications in machine operation or food handling advantageous.

Responsabilités

About the role
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team at our Henderson, Auckland facility on a full-time basis. This role is critical to our production operations, as you will be responsible for operating, monitoring and maintaining our food processing machinery. You will play an essential part in ensuring that our manufacturing processes run smoothly, efficiently and in compliance with all food safety and quality standards. This position offers the opportunity to develop your technical expertise within a supportive manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Operate food processing machinery and equipment according to specified procedures and production schedules
• Monitor machine performance and product quality throughout production runs, making adjustments as necessary
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of machinery to ensure optimal performance and food safety compliance
• Identify and report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to supervisors immediately
• Complete production records and documentation accurately and in a timely manner
• Follow all food safety, hygiene and health and safety protocols at all times
• Collaborate with team members and production manager to meet production targets and deadlines
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and contribute ideas for operational efficiency
• Respond to changeovers between production runs and adjust machine settings as required

What we're looking for

• Prior experience as a Machine Operator or in a similar food manufacturing or production role
• Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene standards, including HACCP principles
• Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, specifications and production schedules
• Demonstrated ability to work accurately and consistently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Good mechanical aptitude and ability to identify and troubleshoot basic equipment issues
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high quality standards
• Reliable, punctual and able to work flexibly as required by production schedules
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills
• Valid drivers licence preferred
• Formal qualifications or certifications in machine operation or food handling are advantageous
• Forklift licence preferred to assist with loading, unloading, movement of storage of goods
