Job summary

Sofitel Wellington, part of Accor, invites you to join as a Receptionist/Porter. You will be the first and last contact for guests, ensuring a seamless, luxurious experience from arrival to departure, with a focus on personalized service and anticipatory hospitality.

The role covers valet coordination, guest assistance, and proactive upselling of hotel facilities to enhance occupancy and revenue. Weekend work may be required, and full NZ working rights are essential.

Qualifications

• Previous customer service/reception experience preferred.
• Full New Zealand Driver's License is required.
• Strong time management and attention to detail skills.
• Strong focus and passion for hotel operations.
• Confident and articulate communication, negotiation, relationship and networking skills.
• Entrepreneurial spirit with drive, ambition and high level of energy.
• Good interpersonal skills with ability to communicate with all levels of team members.
• Flexible and able to embrace and respond effectively to change.
• Role model in Accor values and Heartist culture.

Responsibilities

• Providing a unique and personalized guest experience for each guest at our hotel by creating rapport with guests and using creative and personal ways to exceed guest expectations.
• Manage check-in/out, payments, and guest details accurately.
• Promote hotel facilities, actively upselling to maximise occupancy and revenue.
• Safeguard guest property with proper documentation
• Promote Accor loyalty programs to enhance guest satisfaction and brand loyalty.
• Work collaboratively with all departments for smooth operations.
• Assisting reservations with booking requests
• Taking and directing all incoming calls
• Customer Service: Demonstrate excellent customer communication, greet guests in a warm, professional and confident manner, answer questions, and provide general facility directions.
• Collection, delivery, handling and storage of all guest luggage as per procedure and record on the log book.
• Deliver guests correspondence and packages to rooms or wherever designated and record on the log book.
• Prepare and serve welcome drinks as required
• Escort guests to their rooms, explaining the facilities of the hotel en route.
• Assist with parking and collection of guest cars following procedures at all times.
• Help clear tables in the Bar and Club Lounge wherever/whenever required.
• Assist with setting up the Club Lounge and service and support Club service when required, including clearing tables, replenishing items and assisting guests as part of the overall guest experience.
• Monitor the lobby, lobby bar and Club Lounge and promptly clear used glasses, cups and other items left by guests, maintaining a clean and welcoming environment.
• Willingness to work weekends and public holidays in line with operational requirements
