Job summary

Rockgas is NZ's leading LPG supplier seeking a proactive LPG Driver/Operator. This full‑time role requires a current Class 1 or Class 2 licence and physical fitness to move LPG cylinders and load them onto trucks.

You’ll join a safety‑focused team, with training provided to obtain a Class 2 endorsement if needed. Expect steady deliveries, varied hours, and benefits including leave and wellness initiatives.

Qualifications

• A minimum Class 1 full licence or a Class 2 heavy vehicle licence (a Dangerous Goods endorsement would be an advantage).
• Proven experience driving a truck, preferably in a delivery role.
• Very good level of physical fitness to move LPG cylinders.
• Strong communication skills and a commitment to working as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work outside normal business hours and in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Drive LPG cylinders, loading and unloading onto trucks, in a sole-charge capacity after training.
• Maintain health and safety standards and a safe work environment.
• Interact with customers and provide great service.

He aha tau mahi - What you will do:

You will often work in a sole charge capacity (after an initial training period) and require a full Class 1 or 2 license. It’s pretty physical as you’ll be moving a lot of LPG cylinders, loading and unloading them on to trucks. We’re big on health and safety here at Rockgas, so you’ll need to do all this while maintaining a safe work environment.

While it's great if you've already got your Class 2 license (even as a learner), we are also keen to hear from you if you have a full Class 1 and want to get into driving as a career. We will support you to get your Class 2 license and make sure you get lots of driving experience.

To be successful in securing this role you’ll need to have:

The recruitment process for this role involves a medical check which includes a drug and alcohol test, and a criminal record check.
