Job summary

Qube Ports NZ is seeking experienced Log Handling Operators to support Wellington Port operations on a casual, as-required basis. You will operate wheel loaders and/or wheeled material handlers in log handling and export log movements, ensuring safe yard operations.

Applicants should have proven machine experience, a safety-focused attitude, a NZ Restricted Driver’s Licence, and be willing to work 12-hour shifts. Casual employment offers flexible arrangements and training opportunities.

Qualifications

• Proven experience operating wheel loaders and/or material handlers within a port or heavy logistics environment.
• Strong background in log handling and export log operations.
• Willingness to train across multiple machines.
• Positive, safety-focused attitude.
• Restricted NZ Driver’s Licence minimum.
• Ability to work 12 hour shift work.

Responsibilities

• Operate wheel loaders, material handlers and terminal tractors at the Wellington port.
• Safely arrange, transfer, and load logs within the yard and loading out to ship.
• Communicate clearly with the team to ensure safe and efficient operations.
