Job summary

Care on Call is seeking a compassionate Community Support Worker to assist Napier/Hastings clients in their homes. Duties include daily tasks, personal care, cooking light meals and transport to activities, with a focus on safety and wellbeing.

The role requires a current clean full driver's licence, strong communication, and a commitment to reliable, compassionate service. NZ work rights are essential; hourly casual pay aligns with pay equity settlements.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client support.
• A current, clean full driver’s licence is required.
• Ideally a Level 2 Health and Wellbeing certificate (or above).
• Previous experience as a caregiver/support worker with similar clients.
• Legally eligible to work in New Zealand.
• Energetic, proactive and reliable with a caring approach.
• Punctual, honest and caring in all client interactions.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with daily tasks and social activities.
• Provide personal cares and support with daily living activities.
• Perform light housework and meal preparation.
• Drive clients to appointments, work meetings and social events.
• Assist with passive exercises and stretches as required.
