Job summary

Downer NZ in New Plymouth is seeking experienced Line Mechanics to join our fault-friendly team under the Powerco contract. You will perform construction, maintenance and fault diagnosis on electrical networks, with emphasis on safety and quality workmanship in every task.

Qualifications

• EWRB Line Mechanic Registration and current practising licence.
• NZQF Level 4 qualification.
• Current Class 1 driver's licence (car).
• Sound knowledge of the Safety Manual Electricity Industry (SMEI) and Safe practices for Low Voltage Electrical Work.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality service and workmanship in construction, maintenance and fault diagnosis/rectification of all network equipment and installations.
• Ensure a safe work environment at all times and support teamwork.

Downer has recently entered an exciting phase as we embark on the new contract with Powerco as their Tier 1 Contractor in the Taranaki region. Under the leadership of our newly appointed Northwest Area Manager, we want the best Line Mechanics to join our close-knit team based in New Plymouth.

We are looking for experienced and qualified Line mechanics who can ideally work on faults (1 in 4) from the get-go. You will be responsible for the provision of quality service and workmanship in the areas of construction, maintenance and fault diagnosis/rectification of all network equipment and installations while ensuring a safe work environment at all times.
