Job summary

Selwyn District Council is seeking a Library/Service Centre Site Coordinator based at Lincoln Library and Service Centre, a full-time fixed-term role through 31 January 2027, Tuesday to Saturday, with duties including coordinating daily operations and leading a team.

You will foster a positive culture, build strong relationships, deliver high-quality service, and collaborate across the district to ensure staffing and service consistency.

Qualifications

• 3-4 years' experience in a library, customer service, or community-focused environment with leadership or people coordination experience.
• Collaborative and empowering leadership style.
• Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to foster trust and connection within a team.
• Ability to support, motivate and develop others in a positive and inclusive way.
• Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
• Strong digital and technical competence.
• Sound judgement, adaptability, and a calm, solutions-focused approach.
• Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and understanding of Te Ao Māori.
• A full, clean New Zealand driver's licence.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the day-to-day operation of Lincoln Library and Service Centre.
• Ensure the facility remains welcoming, safe, vibrant, and well maintained.
• Foster a positive team culture built on trust, collaboration, inclusion and shared accountability.
• Model excellent customer service and encourage high-quality service delivery.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistent staffing and service delivery across the district.
