Daraco IT in Auckland is seeking an IT support specialist to be the friendly first point of contact for users, helping to restore productivity and reduce downtime. You’ll troubleshoot issues across Windows 11, Microsoft 365, Teams, Outlook and related tech, while keeping customers reassured and informed.
The role suits someone with 1–2 years in IT support, a customer‑first mindset, solid documentation habits and a willingness to learn from experienced engineers in a collaborative team
Smart IT support. Real people. Making a difference.
Auckland-based | Full-time | Level 1.5 Support | Microsoft 365, cloud, devices, networks and plenty of problem-solving
Love solving tech problems, helping people and being the calm expert when someone says, “my laptop hates me”? This could be your next move.
At Daraco IT, we help organisations keep their people productive, secure and supported through practical, responsive IT services. When technology gets in the way, you’ll be one of the friendly problem-solvers who help users breathe again, get back online and occasionally feel like you’ve performed a small miracle.
Based in Auckland, you’ll join a supportive team delivering IT support across New Zealand and Australia, working with organisations across health services, engineering, financial services, professional services and large not-for-profits.
How we work: communicate clearly, take ownership, fix things properly, avoid jargon where possible and build long-term trust with our customers.
You’ll be one of the first people our users speak to when something goes sideways, so your ability to listen, reassure and troubleshoot will matter just as much as your technical skills. One minute you might be helping someone regain access to Microsoft 365, the next you could be setting up a device, sorting a connectivity issue, supporting onboarding, collaborating with the team, or escalating a curly problem to a senior engineer.
Be the friendly first point of contact for people who need IT help via phone, email, the ticketing system, and remote support tools.
Provide occasional onsite support at customer locations when required.
Own the user experience from “something’s broken” through to “thanks, that’s working now”.
Keep tickets moving, priorities clear and notes tidy enough that future-you will thank present-you.
Troubleshoot Windows 11, Microsoft 365, Teams, Outlook, devices, printers, Wi-Fi, VPNs and all the usual suspects.
Set up laptops, desktops, smartphones and other user devices so people can get productive without the drama.
Support user onboarding, account administration, access requests and day-to-day application issues.
Work alongside senior engineers to resolve more complex incidents and learn from real customer environments.
Contribute to reliable, secure and well-supported customer systems across New Zealand and Australia.
Support project initiatives and provide practical technical input where required.
Participate in the after-hours support rotation when required.
1–2 years’ experience in an IT support, helpdesk, desktop support or service desk role.
A people-first approach and the confidence to support both technical and non-technical users without making them feel silly for asking.
Working knowledge of Windows 11, Microsoft 365, Teams, Outlook and common business applications.
Basic understanding of Active Directory or Microsoft Entra ID, networking fundamentals, Wi-Fi, VPNs and printers.
Experience with Linux, Windows, Mac or Citrix environments would be an advantage.
Clear troubleshooting habits, solid documentation skills and the ability to stay organised when the day decides to throw a few curveballs.
A positive attitude, curiosity and a genuine desire to keep learning, because no one in IT has ever said, “that’s it, I now know everything”.
Relevant IT qualifications or certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft certifications, or ITIL Foundation would be well regarded.
Permanent residency or New Zealand citizenship.
A current New Zealand driver’s licence and your own reliable transport, as occasional onsite support may be required.
Work with Daraco IT, a growing technology services company supporting leading organisations across New Zealand, Australia and beyond.
Learn from experienced engineers who enjoy sharing what they know, not guarding the magic spells.
Get hands‑on exposure to modern workplace technology, Microsoft 365, cloud services, networking and security.
Build confidence working directly with customers, solving real issues and becoming the kind of IT person people are relieved to hear from.
Join a practical, supportive team where attitude, reliability and a willingness to learn are genuinely valued.
Be part of a business that values clear communication, ownership, reliability and doing the right thing for customers.
You like helping people, solving puzzles and making technology feel less annoying. You are approachable, organised and calm under pressure. You communicate clearly, enjoy being part of a team and are keen to keep building your technical capability without pretending you already know it all.
